The Ottawa Police Robbery Unit and Crime Stoppers are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects in a April swarming of four people.

On April 15, 2016, at approximately 11:25 pm, four persons, three females and a male, encountered a large group of males and females, perhaps 10 or more, in the area of Iris/Woodroffe. The victims were assaulted and had varying property taken, such as phones and wallets/handbags. A stolen wallet and some contents were found along Iris near the Transitway. A stolen cell phone was also recovered a short time later onboard an OC Transpo bus at Lincoln Fields station. Three of the victims were transported to hospital for assessment, treatment, and were released.

Approximately 30 minutes after the robbery, a pre-paid card stolen during the course of the robbery was used at a convenience store situated on Rideau Street. The card was used by a male to make a purchase at this location. This male is being sought in connection with this investigation.

The male is described as being a black male, approx. 18 years of age, wearing a beige hooded jacket, and carrying a grey backpack (images attached.)

Anyone with information regarding this robbery, or any other robbery, is asked to call the Ottawa Police’s Robbery Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5116.
